When I say... ''I am a Christian'' - Maya Angelou

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean living."
I'm whispering "I was lost,"
Now I'm found and forgiven!
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need CHRIST to be my guide.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need HIS strength to carry on.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible but,
God believes I am worth it.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I was just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow.

Dancing With God - Guidance

A little while ago, my brother and his girlfriend saw this in someone else's blog. They thought I might find it interesting and thought-provoking. I did! (THANKS GUYS! :)
So I thought you might also find it interesting and thought-provoking.

It can also be found at the address of the original blog:

Dancing With God - Guidance

When I meditated on the word Guidance, I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word. I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky. When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the backor by pressing lightly in one direction or another. It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word Guidance. When I saw "G: I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i"."God, "u" and "i" "dance."God, you, and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life. Once again, I became willing to let God lead. My prayer for you today is that God's blessings and mercies be upon you on this day and everyday. May you abide in God as God abides in you.

Dance together with God, trusting God to lead and to guide you through each season of your life. Prayer is one of the best gifts we can receive. There is no cost but a lots of rewards; so let's continue to pray for one another. I hope you dance...and let Him lead!

Barbershop Philosophy

For this first blog, I though I might retell a story I once read, about God and a barberhop philosophy.

A man went to a barber shop to have his hair and his beard cut as always. He started to have a good conversation with the barber who attended him. They talked about so many things and various subjects.

Suddenly, they touched the subject of God. The barber said:
"Look man, I don't believe that God exists as you say."
"Why do you say that?" -- asked the client.
Well, it's easy, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God does not exist. Tell me, if God existed, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be no suffering nor pain. I can't think of a God who permits all of thesethings."

The client stopped for a moment to think but he didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the client went out of the shop. Just after he left the barber shop he saw aman in the street with long hair and a beard (it appeared that it had been a long time since this man had his hair cut and he looked so untidy).

Then the client again entered the barber shop and he said to the barber:
You know what? Barbers do NOT exist."

"How come they don't exist?"-asked the barber.
"I am here and I am a barber."
"No!" - the client exclaimed. "They don't exist because if they did there would be no people with long hair and beards like that man who walks in the street."

"Ah, barbers do exist, what happens is that people do not come to me."

"Exactly!"- affirmed the client. "That's the point. God DOES exist, what happens is people don't go to Him and do not look for Him that's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world." God does exist
!

Sometimes I wonder why people make such a big deal out of God's existence.
When you begin to realize the truth, life becomes simpler. Material things don't matter as much and relationships are kept simple. Simple is the way to go.

''When you put God at the center, everything comes together.'' Tha is my philosophy. The battle IS the LORD'S... and once you try accepting it, and putting all things before God, life just flows and is better enjoyed.

Life is all about choices. It took me 21 years to learn that. Every action is dependent on YOUR choices. Whether they be good or bad. No one can force you to choose. If there is ONE thing people cannot take away from you, it's your freedom to choose.

And I chose to live my life with Jesus by my side. Instead of daily ignoring His calls, I embrace His love.

God DOES exist. And I am the living proof!
The Battle IS the Lord's... I let Him fight MY battles... That is why I always win :P
